What else to say? It was a very rainy Sunday, but we wanted to head south from St. John's along the coastal Irish Loop drive. Just one damned beautiful scene and/or cove after another. Where you see big boats and docks full of stuff, you're seeing offshore oil drilling support. It's the new and abundant smell of money in Newfoundland these days.
Witless Bay Anglican Church offices, former nunnery and Catholic school. I likes the colors and design, especially the gate.
Tors Cove's Fox Island, to the left, was a gift to the O'Driscoll family in the 1800's. One assisted a lost British naval ship in navigating the local waters, and the Admiralty gave the island as a (requested) thank-you gift.
Sheep may safely graze thereon.
Cape Broyle
And back to St. John's to find this brand-new container ship and its twin dwarfing the harbor.
