Both houses we've rented in St. John's have been "Jelly Bean Rows," the colorful wood-sided rowhouse that are St. John's picturesque signature. The blue was our home on Long's Hill.
They're not just downtown. In every direction, color defines the residential architecture.
And if the house itself seems plain, the details still tell color stories.
I got lucky with this photo, taken at the top of Long's Hill looking toward Signal Hill.
Downtown St. John's is definitely vertical, our calves and knees tell us.
